Understanding Periodontal Endoscopy: A Patient's Guide
Perio Precise prioritizes advanced technologies to improve your oral health. One such technology we use is periodontal endoscopic therapy (PET), a cutting-edge procedure designed to provide precise treatment of periodontal disease. Typically, individuals diagnosed with periodontitis, a form of gum disease, undergo non-surgical scaling and root planing, commonly known as “a deep cleaning.” In cases where this treatment proves unsuccessful, the next frequently recommended treatment option has been surgery. Surgery becomes necessary to adequately visualize, clean, and, at times, reconstruct an area impacted by periodontitis. However, what if we could apply vision to treat the affected areas without resorting to surgery? This is precisely achievable through PET (periodontal endoscopic therapy) with a Perio Precise specialist.
Your Periodontal Endoscopic Specialists
Marvelyn and Katie of Perio Precise are periodontal endoscopic specialists dedicated to helping patients treat periodontal disease using a minimally invasive, nonsurgical approach. Through advanced periodontal endoscopic therapy, we are able to see below the gumline with precision, allowing for thorough biofilm and calculus removal while preserving healthy tissue and supporting long-term gum health.
Perio Precise is a mobile dental hygiene team that partners with many trusted dental offices throughout the area. We bring our specialized endoscopic equipment directly to your dental office—so you can receive advanced periodontal care in the comfort of your dental home, alongside your existing dental team.
If your current dental office does not offer periodontal endoscopic therapy, we can help. Contact us to find a partnering office near you, or reach out, and we will connect you with a dental office that can collaboratively treat your periodontal disease with Perio Precise.
Our mission is simple: to elevate periodontal care through collaboration, precision, and patient-centered treatment, helping you maintain your natural teeth whenever possible.
Periodontal endoscopic therapy (PET) is a minimally invasive procedure that allows our dental professionals to examine and treat tooth and root surfaces with unparalleled precision. This advanced technique involves using a tiny camera, called an endoscope, to visualize the surfaces beneath the gumline. This procedure is paired with scaling and root planing allowing patients to achieve incredible results.
During periodontal endoscopic therapy (PET), a small, flexible endoscope is inserted into the affected periodontal pockets, providing our specialists with real-time, high-definition magnified images of the structures below the gumline. This detailed view enables us to remove debris, such as calcified deposits and plaque with greater accuracy.
Perio Precise partners with dental offices to provide a periodontal endoscope and a registered dental hygienist with extensive training to provide this service to you.
Consistent follow-up visits called periodontal maintenance and patient homecare techniques are essential to achieve optimal results.
- Precision: Periodontal endoscopic therapy (PET) allows us to provide treatment with pinpoint accuracy.
- Minimally Invasive: Compared to traditional procedures, periodontal endoscopic therapy (PET) is minimally invasive, leading to quicker recovery times and less discomfort.
- Early Detection: By capturing detailed images, we can detect issues at an early stage, preventing further complications.
- Effective Treatment: Periodontal endoscopy facilitates targeted treatment, ensuring optimal results.
- Alternative Treatment: Have you been diagnosed with periodontal surgery but are looking for another treatment option? In many cases, periodontal endoscopic therapy (PET) can be an alternative to surgery, often yielding a similar result with a simpler procedure.
- Treatment of Gum Disease: We can visualize the extent of gum disease and treat accordingly.
- Identifying Cracks, Fractures and Decay: Hairline fractures, cracks and decay in teeth can be easily identified.
Your comfort and well-being are our top priority. Most patients report minimal discomfort during and after periodontal endoscopic therapy (PET). The detailed images obtained during the procedure allows us to educate you about your dental condition, enabling personalized homecare for optimal results.
With a Perio Precise specialist providing your treatment, we are committed to providing you with the latest advancements in dental care. Periodontal endoscopic therapy (PET) exemplifies our dedication to precision, efficiency, and your overall oral health. What is the difference between traditional SRP and Periodontal Endoscopic Therapy?
Traditional SRP may leave calculus behind since the procedure is done
blindly by tactile and feel. PET is done visually with a small fiber optic camera that is
inserted below the gum tissue non-surgically, and we can remove all the calculus and
now leave any behind.
What’s the difference between an RDH and an endoscopic RDH?
There is 1% or less of RDH that have undergone specialized training and hours to
perform periodontal endoscopic therapy. Perio Precise has about 20+ years of
combined experience of some of the few clinicians in the country who know how to
perform this procedure. Perio Precise has saved 1000s of teeth with many happy
patients.
